It's the 1st. day of September...what does September mean to you? Perhaps,  school started, cooler temperatures, holiday festivities are right around the corner....

The 1st. day of September begins Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. We could not be more proud to help raise awareness for this awful disease. My mother fought ovarian cancer for 20 years...stage 4...She was a miracle one of the strongest women I knew. The bravest person I think I will ever know. Her cancer was discovered by chance she went in for a routine type surgery and during pre-op procedure her tumor was discovered. She had no major symptoms that we are aware of. This is one of the major issues with this disease symptoms are very vague they whisper and caught at the latter stages of the disease.
 Please listen to your body if something does not seem right be sure to seek medical attention. I can speak from personal experience that early detection saves lives.

On September 21st. the NOCC is hosting their annual TEAL Lights Celebration & Fundraiser come help illuminate the Chicago skyline in TEAL Lights.
